Houses in Sumarézinho

in collaboration with gruposp arquitetos

On a plot marked by a steep slope, a mass of trees at the lower portion, and an elongated view, the project envisions the construction of 7 houses oriented toward this landscape.

Each house has four floors organized around a vertical patio that allows ventilation and visual connection with the land and its vegetation. The entrance, through a bridge sheltered by a light metal structure, features an open terrace that allows for collective enjoyment of the landscape. Being at street level, it functions as an inverted ground floor, given that the levels extend downward.

On the floor immediately below, there is a living room and kitchen that connect with the ground, like a service patio. The two lower floors contain spaces designated for bedrooms and studios—flexible spaces that can accommodate the different lifestyles of the residents. Finally, on the lowest level, adjacent to the land, there is a large common plaza and a pool that hover over the terrain, interspersed by the 8 columns that support the structure, along with the vegetation and trees.

The linear arrangement of houses is seen from the street as a delicate cover, but on the other side, it appears as a continuous building with a certain presence. A large collective house made up of clearly defined individualities.
